Make BlanketHero Personal Fire Barrier™ part of your comprehensive home evacuation plan.
Having and practicing a home evacuation plan is a simple, effective means of protecting yourself and your loved ones. It could mean the difference between life and death. Unfortunately, few families actually have a home evacuation plan in case of fire.
Make sure your family is prepared. Advance planning coupled with bi-monthly practice will promote calm during a crisis and prepare your family for a safe exit from danger.
Hero451© urges you to review a few simple steps to create a safer home:
- Create an evacuation plan.
- Keep a BlanketHero Personal Fire Barrier™ in each bedroom of the house. Make sure everyone knows where it is stored.
- Identify two ways out of each room, including windows.
- Do not take personal belongings/property with you
- Identify a meeting place for your family outside of your home, a safe distance from your home.
- Once out of the house, stay out. Never go back in the house
- Call 911 from a neighbor’s house.
- Practice your evacuation plan. Practice escaping by each route; practice in the dark.
- Mark the location of each fire extinguisher in your home.
- Mark the location of each BlanketHero Personal Fire Barrier™ in your home.
- Minimally have a smoke alarm on each floor of your house
- Everyone, including children, should be able to identify the sound of the alarm.
- Make sure you change the batteries in your smoke alarm twice per year.
- Review the plan with everyone in your household.
